This peaceful and secluded working butterfly farm overlooks the bay. It is accessible only by boat. Participate in farm life, relax in your hammock, read a book from the library or enjoy a range of activities including bird watching, hiking, snorkeling and canoeing. Binoculars, rubber boots, snorkeling equipment, dugout canoe and boogie board included with your stay!
The Ranchos, each nestled in a private location, are surrounded by verdant jungle, tropical forest, groves of cacao (chocolate), banana and coconut. The architecture is inspired by the indigenous Ngobe Indians. Designed for two, beautifully simple and comfortable, each rancho has a private bathroom with a hot water shower and furniture crafted from local materials.
Naturally fallen trees and sustainable harvested lumber have been used to build the structures. There are no TVs or air conditioners, only the sounds of the jungle, cool breezes from the bay and binoculars to watch life in the treetops.
The owners are passionate about the natural environment and committed to responsible travel. This has guided all they do at the lodge. By opening up their farm to only a small number of guests they can offer a unique, personalized experience whilst minimizing the impact on this magnificent natural environment.
Prices include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and juice of the day. Other drinks, including alcohol are an additional charge. Transportation from Bocas town is included.
A percentage of the profits are donated to the Bahia Honda Ngobe Community.
